The importance of water use during the state of drought emergency 

In these times of drought emergency in Catalonia, it is crucial that we all take proactive measures to preserve one of the most vital resources: water. Due to the drought, the Phase 1 Emergency Plan has been implemented, especially affecting the Barcelona area. The Generalitat has issued various measures and highlighted the most affected areas to address this situation, and it is our duty to contribute in every way possible. 

The Generalitat’s restrictions include a 25% reduction in water consumption in industry as well as a ban on cleaning vehicles with potable water. At Manain, we are committed to responsible water use and have implemented significant changes in our daily practices to reduce consumption.  

One of the key areas we are focusing our efforts on is cleaning our lifting and construction machinery. We carry out a basic dry cleaning when necessary while ensuring the safety of the machinery.  

 

How we do it at Manain to minimize the impact on you 

We understand that these new measures might imply an additional cost and slightly more time in our operations, but we firmly believe that it is necessary for the general welfare and a sustainable future. After all, what is a bit of temporary effort among everyone compared to preserving such a vital resource? 

It means being conscious of the water used when cleaning our machines. It means taking measures to prevent leaks and unnecessary waste. It means adopting more efficient and conservative cleaning practices. By protecting our machinery, we are directly contributing to water conservation. Moreover, with this effort, we align with the campaign Care for Me, which raises awareness about the importance of caring for machinery during its use.
